Expansion of purchasing offensive to Eastern Germany

  • Over 100,000 m² of property purchased since the start of the year
  • New acquisitions since March: “Münzblock” in Leipzig, historic residential building in top location in Berlin, and large potential development site in Berlin’s Adlershof district

Since March, the Austrian company S IMMO AG has purchased four more properties, residential and commercial, in Germany with a usable area of roughly 18,000 m². With these acquisitions, S IMMO is continuing its purchasing offensive, which has expanded its portfolio by more than 100,000 m² of property. The new acquisitions include two historic portfolio properties in prime locations in Berlin and Leipzig. The so-called Münzblock in Leipzig offers around 5,200 m² of residential and commercial space. The residential and commercial building located on Schlossstrasse in Berlin’s Steglitz district was built in 1904 and has an area of 3,500 m².

Spanning an area of 45,000 m² and situated on the edge of the Adlershof innovation park, the largest purchase offers tremendous development potential thanks to its location and characteristics. S IMMO’s CEO Ernst Vejdovszky: “The site has an ideal location, Adlershof is flourishing and expanding. We expect the demand for flats and commercial space in this area to increase dramatically.” Further purchases in Berlin and Eastern Germany are planned, with the focus being on commercially used properties that offer high development potential due to vacancy, additional construction reserves, or the possibility of being converted to residential use.
