S IMMO welcomes British students

Last week, the listed company S IMMO AG participated in a cooperation with the British Nottingham Trent University. As part of their studies, roughly 50 students from the real estate department travelled to Vienna and Bratislava from 19 March to 23 March 2012. Among other things, the busy programme involved viewings of properties owned by S IMMO, including the Galvaniho IV office building, the Austria Trend Hotel in Bratislava and the S IMMO head office in Vienna. Another highlight was the visit to the construction site of the Quartier Belvedere Central development project near Vienna’s new central railway station. Additional items on the agenda included lectures from Austrian real estate experts and a meeting with students and representatives from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Austria.

One week earlier, Friedrich Wachernig, member of S IMMO’s Management Board, provided students with personal insight into his everyday work life and his professional history. At the invitation of the Real Estate Management department of the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt, he held a question and answer session for students at the first event in the series “Real Estate Personalities Up Close and Personal”. The goal of this series is to show young students and other interested people possible professions and career options in a simple, direct way, to engage in discussions with them and to answer their questions.

“For us, Corporate Social Responsibility is about more than just developing our own young talents at S IMMO. We are pleased to provide young students in the field of real estate an opportunity to gain insight into the operations of a listed real estate investment company and to highlight various career paths in the process. I hope that I was able to give them some positive stimulus for their careers”, said Friedrich Wachernig.
