Arcade Meidling draws a record-breaking 5 million visitors in 2009

Arcade Meidling in Vienna attracted over five million visitors in its fifth year of existence. With exactly 5,081,000 visitors, it saw an increase of 5.6% compared to the previous year. At the same time, turnover in the shops there rose by roughly 4%.

Arcade Meidling, which is located on Meidlinger Hauptstraße and can be reached by taking the U6 metro line to Philadelphiabrücke, has a balanced industry mix and has seen a constant increase in visitors and turnover since it opened in 2004.

The owner of Arcade Meidling, Sparkassen Immobilien AG, and the operator, BOE Baumanagement GmbH, garner attention regularly with unusual promotions. For example, for the shopping centre’s five-year anniversary last September, the entire passageway was covered in real grass.
