From department store to modern office building
In 2015, S IMMO purchased a former department store in Berlin’s Neukölln borough. The building was constructed in 1970 and is located directly on Neukölln’s main thoroughfare, Karl-Marx-Strasse.
Offices, retail space and gastronomy
S IMMO is planning to completely refurbish the six-storey building, including the accompanying parking garage, in close cooperation with the city. The usable area will be expanded to roughly 22,000 m² through conversion measures. Some 9,000 m² of this will be turned into retail, fitness, and restaurant space, and an additional 13,000 m² will be let out as offices in the future. The complex is considered a key property in the urban renewal area of Karl-Marx-Strasse/Sonnenallee, and is intended to revitalise the city centre and become a driver of creative urban development.
