Now they have been honoured with the „S IMMO Award“.

Within the team project, students from Danube University Krems‘ current course „Real Estate“ developed optimization strategies for stock exchange listed real estate investment company S IMMO AG’s Berlin real estate portfolio. As part of the foreign country module, the students viewed the properties in person and were able to analyze the data material. “The Berlin real estate market is especially attractive for Austrian investors currently,“ says course leader Dr. Kaja Schossmaier from the Center for Real Estate Economics at the Danube University Krems.

“Lectures by German experts on German rent law, property ownership establishment and the drawing up of purchase contracts in addition to German tax law provide our students with a good overview. Moreover, they receive insider information about the market through exchanges with German property valuers,“ says Schossmaier furthermore. The foreign country week is rounded off with lectures dealing with the topic of portfolio management. The team project provides practical relevance through which the acquired knowledge is implemented.

The eight-member winning team is thrilled to receive the „S IMMO Award“ for the most convincing portfolio strategy. The successful cooperation between Danube University and S IMMO AG will continue through the course “Real Estate Msc” starting in 2013.
